About the Journal
(2015-2022)
BJAS is published from 2022 on under a new concept and a new editorial team here.
The Bavarian Journal of Applied Sciences (BJAS) is a young open access and peer-reviewed journal that is published by Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Bavaria. The BJAS provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers in applied sciences for imparting and sharing knowledge in the form of empirical and theoretical research papers. The journal welcomes and acknowledges submissions from researchers in management, economics, tourism, health sciences, IT, technology, natural sciences, engineering and others.
It is available in both print and online format.
Concept
The Bavarian Journal of Applied Sciences (BJAS) was launched in 2015 with the aim of offering researchers and young scientists at Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) a platform for putting applied research topics and scientific results to discussion. It is the first scientific journal to offer an interdisciplinary forum for applied research in the German-speaking area. The BJAS is aimed at readers who are interested in the manifold, interdisciplinary topics of applied research. That is why the journal is an open access publication. Whereas the first two issues still covered the whole spectrum of applied research undertaken at DIT without any restrictions as to research areas, there will be special topics issues from 2017 on. With this strategy, currently relevant questions and developments pertaining to societal challenges or technological innovations may be responded to and current research discussions within the respective scientific communities may be reflected upon.
The BJAS is published once per year in December. It accepts original scientific contributions, research reports, legal commentaries and reprints. The focus, however, is on original contributions (at least 50% of all published papers).
Quality Control
The principal editors and the editorial team are supported by an advisory editorial board which consists of researching professors at DIT and external members. The editorial board decides upon the acceptance of single contributions. If a contribution is deemed to meet basic academic standards and to match the call, it is vetted through a peer-review process. Peer-reviewing procedures are as follows:
Initially, contributions are sent to reviewers in an anonymous fashion (double-blind). If after peer-review the contribution is deemed worth publishing, and only in this case, authors and reviewers are disclosed.
Open Access and Copyright
The BJAS is an open access journal. There are no costs for readers.
The content on this site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.
Once a contribution has been accepted for publication, the author/s automatically grant/s the publisher a simple, spatially and temporally unlimited right of use that encompasses all types of digital usage. The author/s authorize/s the journal to publish the contribution under the above-mentioned Creative Commons license, which allows others to use, share and adapt the published material under the condition that the original publication is properly cited.
We encourage authors to make their work available online in parallel to the publication in this journal (e.g. as PDF versions on the websites of institutions or on their personal websites). This may enhance fruitful exchange and increase citation count.
