  • Call for Guest Editors BJAS Issue 8 (2025)

The Bavarian Journal of Applied Sciences is seeking proposals from Guest Editors for the next issue of the journal to be published in 2025 (No. 8). Proposals should be submitted no later than 30 January 2025 to info@jas.bayern, and will be evaluated by the journal’s Editorial Board for their relevance to the BJAS readership and their academic quality.

For preliminary enquiries and submissions, contact Michelle Cummings-Koether and Kristin Seffer via info@jas.bayern.

    Proposal format

The next issue of the BJAS can have a specific topic and address different disciplines or interdisciplinary approaches, or it can have a disciplinary focus. It shall have a strong focus on applied research but with a theoretical foundation. Collaborative proposals (2 or 3 guest editors) are particularly welcome. Proposals can be submitted in English or in German.

Proposals should include information in the following sections:

    • the proposed topic for the special issue,
    • a draft Call for Papers including the chosen theme, and target readership (max. 2 pages),
    • Guest Editor profiles: names, affiliations, contact details, short biographical information,
    • a list of potential reviewers.

    The role of Guest Editors

Guest editors will work in close collaboration with the Editors and journal administrators of the BJAS, whose role is to help with the editorial procedures (dissemination of the Call for Papers, refereeing process, communication with authors, preparation of manuscripts for publication, etc.).
